Tassajara (until 1959, Tassajero;[1] also formerly called Tasajero and Tassajera[2]) is an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, California. It is located on the east bank of Tassajara Creek, 6.5 miles (10 km) south-southeast of Mount Diablo,[2] at an elevation of 709 feet (216 m). Together with Blackhawk ist forms the Blackhawk-Camino Tassajara CDP.
A post office operated at Tassajara from 1896 to 1922.[2]
